Step 1: Registration
Register on this website (first time only) as an AanUit.net user. After registration you can use any AanUit.net point in the Netherlands at local applicable rates An AanUit.net point can be for stay (mooring or parking), power connection. All AanUit.net points have a unique five-digit number. You can activate the relevant AanUit.net points and pay with them via the following steps.
Step 2: Switch on accommodation, power supply or water tap
Select the location where you are.
Select the correct service (Stay, electricity, or water).
Activate the five-digit number of the AanUit.net point you want to activate with:
The AanUit.net app (for smartphone or tablet) or
This website: log in with your email address and password (at the top of this page)
Stay
You must first turn on your stay before turning on electricity.
Your stay and the electricity remain activated until the moment you switch off the residence or power.
The rules for stay may vary by location. You will be notified when the new period starts.
Electricity
Connect your power cable to the AanUit.net point you want to activate. When you turn on the power, you will see this by the blue LED ring (if equipped).
Step 3: Switch off accommodation, power supply
You can turn off your stay, power, sessions in the same way you turned them on (see step 2).
You can be informed of your costs for your stay, electricity, sessions via a daily email or SMS (you can change this via your settings on the website and app).
If you use the AanUit.net app or “My environment” on AanUit.net, you always have an overview of your current consumption, the costs, and the status of your connection and stay (on/off).
Please note: Removing the power cable from the power strip does not end your session, you must turn off the session via the app or the website!
Pay
You pay afterwards via one of our payment methods which you chose during registration.
The simplest payment method is direct debit. At the beginning of the next month, the amount is automatically debited from your bank account. You will receive an email containing your invoice which has already been paid.
If you have not opted for direct debit, you will receive an email at the beginning of the next month that indicates that your invoice is ready in the app or on the website with a payment link. You can then pay the amount via iDeal, Sofort, Mr. Cash, or credit card (MasterCard or VISA).
Boating rules in Amsterdam
- Safety first! Ensure there is one responsible skipper at all times who is confident to navigate the waterways and canals of Amsterdam.
- Above all: good seamanship means you must always strive to avoid a collision, even if you believe you are in the right position.
- The maximum speed is 6 kilometers per hour. This is faster than a pedestrian but slower than a cyclist.
- Sometimes a boat can create unnecessary waves at a speed of 6 km per hour, so please reduce your speed in that case.
- Always keep to starboard (right).
- Starboard (right) always takes precedence.
- A small ship <20 meters must always yield to a larger vessel.
- Do not consume alcohol while operating the boat.
- Be considerate of the neighborhood: refrain from playing music or shouting. You risk a fine.
- Sail with a maximum of 12 people, plus the skipper, in the canals of Amsterdam.
- As it gets dark, especially late at night, ensure that your front and rear lights are functional.
- The 12+ (1 skipper) rule does not apply on the IJ, Amstelroute, and Kostverlorenvaartroute. These through routes are part of Amsterdam’s inland waterways, where the 12+ (1 skipper) rule is permitted. Please refer to the green highlighted area on the map below:
Kostverlorenvaartroute:
Westerkanaal – Singelgracht – Kattensloot – Kostverlorenvaart – Schinkel – Nieuwe Meer.
Oostroute or Amstelroute:
Oosterdok – Schippersgracht – Nieuwe Herengracht – Amstel.

How to dock the boat?
Please always check whether you are allowed to moor at the location. You can moor anywhere as long as it is not prohibited it is indicated quite clearly, but always look carefully at the entire length of the quay, it is possible that the sign is hung a few meters further from the quay. Never moor near stairs.
